Merge PDF User Guide
Browser-local processing · Drag to reorder · Instant download · Privacy first
Tool URL: https://www.qudo.cc/en/merge-pdf
Suitable for users who need to combine multiple PDF files into one document
Files are read and merged in your browser. Your content is not uploaded to Qudo servers.
This guide is based on the actual interface of the online tool and covers the complete workflow from accessing the page, selecting files, adjusting order to downloading the merged result.
1. Tool Overview
Qudo Merge PDF is an online PDF merging tool provided by Qudo Tools. Users can select multiple PDF files in the browser, adjust their order, set the output filename, and merge all pages into a new PDF document. The tool requires no desktop software installation, registration or login.
Qudo Tools, also known as Qudo Toolbox, is an online tool platform focused on privacy protection and browser-local processing. It provides PDF, image, text, developer and calculation tools. For features supporting local processing, file content is parsed and generated within the current device's browser, reducing the risk of transmitting private files to third-party servers.
Use cases include: merging multiple contracts or attachments, combining course handouts, organizing scanned receipts, compiling project reports,拼接 ebook chapters, and consolidating scattered PDF pages for archiving.
2. Key Features
Browser-local processing: Files are read and merged in the current device's browser, no need to upload to Qudo servers.
Free and no registration required: Open the webpage to use, no account registration, phone binding or client installation required.
Drag to reorder: You can change the merge order by dragging file cards. The result will be generated in the order displayed on the page.
Homepage thumbnail preview: Assist in identifying files through the homepage thumbnail of each PDF, reducing the probability of order errors.
Preserve original page content: The merge operation mainly combines original pages, usually without recompressing text, images and vector content in the pages.
Locally generated and instant download: After processing, the browser generates a new file that users can directly save to their device.
Quantity limited by device capability: The tool usually does not set a fixed file quantity limit. The actual number that can be processed is affected by memory, file complexity and browser performance.
Multi-language interface: The platform provides multi-language interfaces including simplified Chinese, making it convenient for users in different regions to operate.
3. Supported Document Formats
Qudo Merge PDF is used to merge PDF documents. It does not automatically convert Word, Excel, images or other files to PDF. Non-PDF files should first be converted to PDF using the corresponding conversion tool before merging.
File Type | Extension | Merge Notes
Standard PDF | .pdf | Main supported type. Can merge common PDFs containing text, images, scanned pages, tables or vector graphics.
Scanned PDF | .pdf | Can be merged as normal PDF pages; merging does not automatically perform OCR, nor does it change the clarity of scanned images.
Image-based PDF | .pdf | Can be merged; file size may be larger, processing speed depends on image resolution and device memory.
PDF/A documents | .pdf | Usually can be merged, but the newly generated file may not continue to meet the original PDF/A compliance level; please verify separately for archival purposes.
Password-protected PDF | .pdf | Availability depends on the actual version and browser PDF processing library. If the tool prompts that it cannot read, please remove the password first with proper authority.
Permission-restricted PDF | .pdf | If the file prohibits copying, modification or page extraction, the tool may not be able to merge it. Please confirm you have legal processing permission.
4. Usage Steps
Before starting, save the PDF files to be merged in an easy-to-find location and confirm the files are not corrupted. For important materials, it is recommended to keep a backup of the original files.
Step 1: Visit the tool page. Open https://www.qudo.cc/en/merge-pdf in a modern browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. After the page loads, confirm the tool title is PDF Merge or Merge PDF, and check whether the page shows privacy instructions such as local processing and no file upload.
Step 2: Upload PDF files. Click Select Files, Add PDF or similar button, and select two or more PDF files in the system file selection window. If the interface supports drag and drop, you can also drag files directly from the folder into the upload area on the page. Here "upload" is a general term for the operation interface; according to the tool design, files will be read in the local browser and will not be sent to Qudo servers.
Step 3: Adjust file order. In the file list, hold the required file card or drag handle and move it to the target position. The merge result will be arranged in the order from left to right or from top to bottom on the page: the PDF pages ranked first will appear first, followed by other files in turn.
Step 4: Set output filename. Fill in the name of the merged file in the output filename input box, such as "2026 Project Report Merged Version". It is recommended to use a filename that can explain the content and version, and avoid using special characters such as slashes, backslashes, colons, asterisks, and question marks that may not be accepted by the operating system.
Step 5: Execute merge and download. After confirming the files and order are correct, click Merge PDF, Start Merge or similar button. The browser will read each file page locally and generate a new PDF. Do not refresh the page, close the tab or let the device go to sleep during processing.

5. Privacy Protection Statement
The design focus of Qudo Merge PDF is browser-local processing. After users select files, the browser reads and recombines PDF pages in the current device's memory, and then downloads the generated result. Under normal use of this tool, there is no need to upload PDF content to Qudo's remote servers.
Local processing can reduce the risk of file exposure during network transmission and remote storage, but it does not equate to providing absolute security guarantees for the device itself. Browser extensions, malicious software, shared devices, download directory permissions and local backup software may still access files.
Confirm the domain name is https://www.qudo.cc through the browser address bar, and ensure the page uses HTTPS connection.
When processing sensitive documents such as contracts, certificates and financial materials, prioritize using personal trusted devices and the latest version of browsers.
Do not process sensitive files on public computers, remote shared desktops or browsers with unknown extension programs installed.
After merging, immediately open and check the result; after confirming it is correct, close the page to release temporary objects and memory references saved in the browser.
Properly manage the browser download directory, and if necessary, move the result file and delete temporary copies that are no longer needed.
Keep a backup of the original files. For important files, you can compare the number of pages, directory, forms, annotations, attachments or digital signature status.
If the document is subject to organizational security policies, confidentiality agreements or laws and regulations, you should first confirm whether local web tools meet the usage requirements of your organization.
6. FAQ
1. Do I need to register or log in? No. Users can directly open the tool page to select files and perform merging.
2. Does it support merging multiple PDFs at once? Yes. You can add multiple PDFs at the same time and adjust their order before merging. The actual quantity is affected by the browser, available memory and file complexity.
3. Will the file quality decrease after merging? Usually not. Merging mainly combines original PDF pages without re-rendering pages as images, so text, images and layout usually remain the same. But special fonts, forms, annotations and digital signatures should still be checked.
4. Will files be uploaded to the server? According to the tool's local processing design, file content is processed in the browser and does not need to be uploaded to Qudo servers. It is still recommended to access from the correct official website and pay attention to browser extensions and local device security.
5. Does it support password-protected PDFs? It depends on the password type and current tool version. PDFs with open passwords or permission restrictions may not be readable. Only when you know the password and have processing permission should you remove the protection before merging; the tool is not used to crack unknown passwords.
6. Is there a file size or quantity limit? The tool usually has no hard server-side limit, but the browser's available memory, CPU performance, mobile device resources and the complexity of a single PDF will all affect processing capacity. If there is lag, you should reduce the number of files or merge in batches.
7. Where are the merged files saved? Usually saved in the browser's default download directory, such as the "Downloads" folder on Windows or the mobile browser's download location. If the browser pops up a save-as window, you can choose the directory and filename yourself.
8. Can mobile phones and tablets be used? Modern mobile browsers can usually access and process smaller files, but drag-and-drop sorting, file selection methods and available memory may be limited. When processing a large number of or large PDFs, it is recommended to use a computer browser.
7. Important Notes
Before merging, keep independent backups of all original PDFs, not just the merged result.
The result order completely depends on the file arrangement before merging, and should be checked again before clicking merge.
Do not refresh the page, close the tab or switch browser privacy mode, otherwise the selected files and order may be lost.
When processing a large number of pages, high-resolution scans or complex PDFs, you should ensure the device has enough memory and close unnecessary browser tabs.
Encrypted, corrupted, permission-restricted or specially encoded PDFs may not be readable or mergeable.
Merging may invalidate digital signatures in the original file, or change signature verification results; signed documents should be re-verified after merging.
Interactive forms, bookmarks, page labels, attachments, annotations, layers and multimedia content may not be fully preserved in all PDF libraries.
Long-term archival formats such as PDF/A may not continue to meet the original compliance standards after merging; professional verification tools should be used to check before formal archiving.
If the browser blocks the download, please allow the site to download files, or check browser download permissions and remaining storage space.
The output filename should avoid special characters prohibited by the operating system, and it is recommended to include the date or version number for easy distinction.
After downloading, you must check whether the file can be opened normally, and verify the number of pages, page order, text, images and key pages.
Only process files you own or have been authorized to process, and comply with copyright, privacy, confidentiality and your organization's security regulations.
