This tool supports JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP and static GIF. Animated GIFs may only retain the first frame. Very large images may be limited by device memory and browser capabilities. JPG does not support transparency. Converting to JPG or lossy WebP will cause some quality loss. Browser conversion may not preserve EXIF data.

A 2.8 MB PNG product photo can be converted to WebP at 82% quality. The converted file may be significantly smaller, making it more suitable for web display. Actual results depend on image content, resolution and quality settings.
FAQ
Are images uploaded to a server?
No. All image reading, conversion and downloading happens entirely in your browser.
Why does PNG converted to JPG lose transparency?
JPG format does not support transparency. Transparent areas are filled with your chosen background color (white by default).
Why does animated GIF become a static image?
The first version does not handle full GIF animation, only retaining the current frame.
Which format should I choose — JPG, PNG or WebP?
Choose JPG for photos, PNG or WebP for transparency, and WebP for web use with better compression.
Why is the converted file larger?
The quality setting may be too high or the target format may have different compression efficiency. Try adjusting the quality slider.
Does conversion reduce quality?
Converting to JPG or lossy WebP causes some quality loss. PNG is lossless and preserves quality.
Can I batch convert images?
Yes. You can add multiple images at once and convert them in batch, then download individually or as a ZIP.
Is EXIF data preserved?
Browser Canvas conversion may not preserve EXIF data. Use professional tools if you need to keep shooting metadata.
Why do very large images fail to convert?
